Some Arm Trouble

Bit of a slow day, still tired from yesterday since I was out the whole day for my drawing session plus work. I'd say I'm getting the hang of doing knees but arms are still troubling me a bit...

Some more drawings from my regular drawing session today. Starting to add perspective to the model by breaking down the forms into boxes now instead of simple bean shapes and spheres. Gonna use tracing paper next time since drawing boxes on top of what's already there kinda loses the integrity and I'm not fond of the idea of drawing over with pencil crayon either :/

Back to Basics!

 So here are the drawings that I did during my life drawing session today. I'm following Chapter 2 of Vilppu's drawing manual where he breaks down the model into spherical forms. So I'm learning to draw the forms here rather than draw the contour around the model. And I have to say that it's working wonderfully.

For retrospect to look back at how I've been improving, these are drawings that I've done about 1-2 months ago. My lines were much more messy back then, and didn't have clear direction or understanding of what I was looking at. Basically what I gained between then and now is the patience to analyze the model first rather than "copying" the model. I have to say that I'm pretty proud of my progress from day 1 to now. There's so much more in store!

Hmmm....

No idea if I'm just not sitting properly or if I'm taking the pictures weird, but I swear that when I was drawing the legs and head didn't look THIS out of proportion...:/ gotta reevaluate how I'm drawing and I have to take steps back more often so I can figure out what's going wrong when I draw...
